A Writer is very important to the success of all films. Who is your favorite Writer for these Horror/Thriller films and why? Let's take a look into their imagination...
Writer of the Week: Stephen King
Writer of "Carrie," "Cujo," "IT," "Christine," and many many more!
Stephen King: also known as the "King of Horror." He has published more than 50 best-selling titles over the past 44 years... and nothing is stopping him anytime soon.
I was introduced to him by my mother and brother. They both read his books, which led me to read them all as well. That's what I did when I was young; read books and write my own stories. He was my inspiration into the Horror genre. He is the reason why I write Horror/Thriller scripts and books in the first place.
I think the first book that I read of Stephen King's was, "Christine." Then all of them followed in tow, "Carrie," The Langoliers," "Cujo," "Gerald's Game," the list is on and on. I've read them all (except for the newer ones, I'm behind on those).
Then his books were being made into films. I was like a kid in a candy store. I couldn't wait to watch them all.
He is sadistic and his stories are captivating. They are written to engage his loyal fans and his first-time readers. We identify with these characters. They give a sense of realism. They give us a sense of fear.
AND we love feeling that sense of fear! Right?

Writer of the Week: Anne Rice
Writer of "Interview with the Vampire" and the other Vampire Chronicles. http://annerice.com/
The Vampire Chronicles novels have become some of the bestselling novels of all time.
I was first introduced to "Interview with the Vampire" with the adapted 1994 film starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Christian Slater and Kirsten Dunst.
Let me tell you.. AMAZING! A very long film but still amazing. The actors are superb and the storyline catches the audience's attention.
What's even more interesting to know is that Paramount Television and Anonymous Content has optioned the rights to 11 of Anne Rice's books!
She has been an inspiration to me. As someone who has written stories and books since a small child, I look up to her. I look up to her ability to create something magical, something that we can all imagine or relate to. Feelings, thoughts, ideas, materials that can awaken the brain. It's all in our minds and we need to create things that other people can fall in love with!
We can fall in love with her books, her stories and her imaginative mind. Your beliefs and what you can create on your own is magical in its self.
